Global Day of Coderetreat 2014

This year I participated in the Global Day of Coderetreat, and I can’t wait for next year!

We spent the day solving the problem laid out in Conway’s Game of Life. On the surface, this is a fairly easy game that can be implemented in any programming language. This is the reason it is used for Coderetreats. The interesting part isn’t the game, but the constraints put on solving the problem. Continue reading

Web Development With Odin

Those of you unfamiliar with Odin, one of the gods from Norse mythology, may be unaware of his connection with the study of web development.

It turns out, this guy plucked out his own eye to gain the Wisdom of Ages. He went on to hang himself from a tree, pierced by his own spear, for nine days. This was done to gain wisdom and power in the nine worlds.
